# Set the Workspace's Refresh cost threshold

> Replaces the selected Workspace’s Refresh cost threshold, in US cents: the change preview calls out a predicted cost of the next Refresh above it. The field is required, and null returns the Workspace to the platform default. A change is recorded in the audit trail with the person and the old and new thresholds; a write that changes nothing records nothing. Returns the threshold that now applies.

## Access

This operation needs a Parable token. An MCP token cannot call it. See [Authentication](/getting-started/authentication.md) for the kinds of token.

Your roles must grant `tenant.parables.runs.budget.threshold`.
